Providence Little Company of Mary Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Video         Monday, May 10, 2010

Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center Torrance opens a new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (and ICU for newborn babies), in December 2009 due to the hard work of RMG Building and the design team. This NICU is the first in LA County to have private rooms for each baby (or set of twins). Each room contains a hand wash sink, 18 medical gas outlets, 15 electrical outlets, complex lighting, breast milk refrigerator, and various other monitoring systems. RMG was able to coordinate the installation of all these systems with little problem even though space was tight in the walls and ceiling. All work was performed while maintaining the functioning Surgery suite below by doing work during surgery down time in the middle of the night.

Biller Resource Center Dedication Video         Wednesday, May 12, 2010

The Biller Resource Center aims to ensure seamless supportive care at City of Hope. Patients and their caregivers can now find health education materials and computers at the center. Staff members also can provide referrals to outside agencies and resources for transportation, housing and other support.

In addition to a comfortable, open reading area, the center houses rooms for educational workshops, presentations and support groups, as well as rooms for private meetings with patient navigators, social workers, psychiatrists and other Department of Supportive Care Medicine staff. The facility is located near the entrance of the Main Medical Building, behind the Guest Services Desk.
